An influential forum for multi-disciplinary arts, the Institute of Contemporary Art has been at the leading edge of art in Boston for over 75 years. Like its iconic building on Boston’s waterfront, the ICA offers new ways of engaging with the world around us. Its exhibitions and programs provide access to contemporary art, artists, and the creative process, inviting audiences of all ages and backgrounds to participate in the excitement of new art and ideas.
Unitas Ensemble was founded in 2014 by Artistic Director Lina Gonzalez-Granados to bring performances of Latin-American music of the highest caliber to the people of Boston. The orchestra has undertaken commissions of new works as well as performances and recordings of repertoire from composers from throughout Latin America. Unitas Ensemble is a committed member of the Boston community, and performs regular outreach concerts to area schools, as well as community events in various locations aimed at enriching the lives of area residents and art-lovers alike.
Guerilla Opera is a Boston-based experimental opera company that strives to foster a new repertoire of chamber operas and perform them in intimate settings without the use of a conductor or formal music director. Since 2007, Guerilla Opera has garnered a national reputation for excellence in performance and bold programming.
For 30 years, Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre has worked to make ballet accessible to everyone. From original ballet works featuring Mateo’s innovative choreography to high quality dance instruction at its school and the groundbreaking Dance for World Community project, its studios are open to everyone. Critically acclaimed, José Mateo Ballet Theatre is distinguished as the only ballet company in New England to produce an entire repertory by it’s own resident choreographer.
SpeakEasy Stage Company has distinguished itself as Boston’s premiere theater, consistently winning acclaim for presenting top-quality productions of vital, cutting-edge plays and musicals. Founded by Producing Artistic Director Paul Daigneault in 1992, SpeakEasy was named a Pavilion Resident Theater Company at the Boston Center for the Arts in 2007 and produces 28 weeks of new plays and musicals each season at the Nancy and Ed Roberts Studio Theater.
