An influential forum for multi-disciplinary arts, the Institute of Contemporary Art has been at the leading edge of art in Boston for over 75 years. Like its iconic building on Boston’s waterfront, the ICA offers new ways of engaging with the world around us. Its exhibitions and programs provide access to contemporary art, artists, and the creative process, inviting audiences of all ages and backgrounds to participate in the excitement of new art and ideas.
Under the direction of conductor Andris Nelsons, The Boston Symphony Orchestra is one of the premier orchestras world-wide. Today the Boston Symphony Orchestra, presents more than 250 concerts annually most often at Symphony Hall in Boston and in the summer performs at Tanglewood in the Berkshires. The Boston Symphony Orchestra has performed throughout the United States, as well as in Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, South America, and China; in addition, it reaches audiences numbering in the millions through its performances on radio, television, and recordings.
Under the artistic direction of Jason Slavick, Liars & Believers expands the language of live performance, exploring the widest variety of theatrical forms, creating accessible, unique shows that meaningfully engage the world we share. Liars & Believers combines movement and dance, live singing and music, puppetry, mask, clown, spoken text, and any other performance forms in interdisciplinary works that are moving, thought-provoking, and a sensory explosion. They don't play by the usual theatre rules. They want you to share, interact, and play with them.
For 30 years, Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre has worked to make ballet accessible to everyone. From original ballet works featuring Mateo’s innovative choreography to high quality dance instruction at its school and the groundbreaking Dance for World Community project, its studios are open to everyone. Critically acclaimed, José Mateo Ballet Theatre is distinguished as the only ballet company in New England to produce an entire repertory by it’s own resident choreographer.
Central Square Theater, is a state-of-the-art theatrical arts facility where audiences find, under one roof, the distinctive repertoires of two award-winning, professional companies, The Nora Theatre Company and Underground Railway Theater as well as collaborative projects drawing on their creative synergy. It is located in the multicultural, multi-generational, urban environment of Central Square, Cambridge.
