The Network for Arts Administrators of Color (or NAAC Boston) was established to enhance the visibility of professionals of color in Greater Boston’s arts and culture sector, as well as widen the leadership pipeline and highlight opportunities for professional and personal growth in the field.

MassQuerade Ball 2017: Convergence

Imagine an art event where instead of looking at objects on walls we look at each other; where instead of going to see art, we become it; where people can convene, converge and celebrate what makes us both unique and unified. This is the inspiration behind MassQuerade Ball 2017: Convergence, an inter-generational, cross-cultural exhibition of the arts. Join us in honoring the diverse artistic expressions of Boston’s communities of color in a shared appreciation for arts, culture, and our collective humanity.   Artists include: Daniel Callahan, transmedia artist Castle of our Skins, Black Classical muisic U-Meleni Mhlaba-Adebo, Zimbabwe poet and spoken word artist Odaiko New England, Japanese Taiko drumming Kréyol, Haitian haute couture fashion Hyde Square Task force, youth Latin dance ensemble Sinha Capoeria Boston, Afro-Brazilian Capoeria  
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE BALL:
  • An inter-generational, cross-cultural exhibition of the arts taking place April 29, 2017, from 6:30-10pm.
  • Schedule includes live MassQing at 6:30pm with performances beginning at 8:00pm. Doors open at 6:15pm.
  • PLUS ethnic food, cash bar and a DJ dance party.
